Vaping is quickly becoming a popular alternative to traditional tobacco smoking, and for good reason. Not only is vaping free from the chemicals and smells of traditional cigarettes, it allows for greater flavor variety and a reduction or even elimination of nicotine use. That said, it can take a bit of time and effort to understand the different components of vaping, research and set up the best system for one’s needs and desires, and become used to vaping.
After you spend the necessary time to research and put together the perfect vaping system, discover the best vape flavors for your own personal taste and get the hang of vaping, it can be incredibly frustrating when anything goes wrong–no matter how minor it is. One of the most disappointing things that can happen is your vape tank leaking. Not only is it irritating to lose your e-juice because of a leaky vape tank, it can be even worse when e-juice gets all over your pocket or purse. Fortunately, there are some simple ways you can prevent your vape tank from leaking so that you can continue to enjoy the vaping experience.
Preventing a Leaky Vape Tank
There are several things that can contribute to a leaky vape tank, so to prevent this from occurring one needs to:
- Fill your vape tank carefully. You should never fill your vape tank quickly or carelessly, because you may accidentally squirt e-juice into the chimney of the tank where the airflow comes through. Just a little amount of e-juice in the chimney can cause a leak, or sometimes even a spitback. Instead, take the time to fill your vape tank slowly and carefully, paying attention to what you are doing.
- Avoid setting your vape tank on its side. Sometimes you may be in a hurry and you set your vape mod or vape tank on its side for awhile. When you finally pick up your vape mod or vape tank, you may be surprised to discover that there is a sticky puddle of e-juice underneath where it was lying. Unfortunately, the vape mod or vape tank is just not made to withstand being set on its side, which can result in loosened seals. For this reason it is very important to always set your vape mod or vape tank upright when you’re putting it down for any reason.
- Ensure that all the seals and o-rings on the tank are snug. If you fill your tank carefully and avoid setting it on its side but still experience some leaking, it’s time to make sure that the seal and o-rings on the tank are snug. Check to see that they are all lined up and tight, and none of them are damaged. Any loose joints can cause leaks that then can affect how airtight your tank is.
- Clean your vape tank. It is always a good idea to occasionally clean your vape tank, especially if it is leaking. Thoroughly washing your vape tank to remove any gunk build-up in the air intake or juice chamber can then prevent e-juice leaks.
There will, of course, be instances where a vape tank is faulty or broken and simply needs to be replaced. However, more often the leaking is caused by a minor issue that can be easily prevented or repaired, which saves you from having to pay for another vape tank. Not only can the above tips help protect against leaks, they can also ensure that your vape tank is clean and running well, which can make for an even better vaping experience.
